Las Vegas’ own Bryce Harper will be making an appearance at Findlay Toyota in the Valley Automall Feb. 8 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Baseball’s No. 1 draft pick is coming off a stellar rookie season during which he was named the 2012 rookie of the year playing for the National League’s Washington Nationals.
“I’m really excited to be able to have this opportunity to work with my hometown friends at Findlay Toyota,” Harper said. “I look forward to seeing everyone on Feb. 8.”
In anticipation of Harper’s appearance, the dealership has declared the date Bryce Harper Day at Findlay Toyota.
“We never do anything small at Findlay Toyota. We think Bryce is one of the great baseball players of the decade and of all time, and we want to send him off to spring training in true Las Vegas fashion – as our hometown hero,” said Stephanie Bernas, marketing director. “The dealership has been getting countless calls from people asking for more details on his appearance. I just tell them to save the date because it’s going to be a great day for baseball and a barbecue.”
Harper’s appearance will include a question-and-answer session and a check presentation to charity. There will also be commemorative T-shirts, an opportunity to win signed merchandise and free hamburgers and hot dogs.
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Miracle League of Las Vegas, a program that provides an opportunity for children of all ages with cognitive and/or physical challenges to play baseball.
Space for the event is limited. Those who wish to attend are encouraged to register at Findlaytoyota.com.
